The facts about animals and Cosmetics

Inner beauty is just as important as outer beauty. Ask yourself, is skin deep beauty really worth suffering of animals? Not in a million years time. That is why I decided to use ONLY cruelty free products on my clients, and why I named my business Vegan Bridal.

In EU, animal testing on cosmetics has been banned since 2013.The ban applies to all products, wherever in the world they come from. In other countries, like in Australia and the US, animal testing is allowed. It is important when shopping for cosmetics, to look for the cruelty free brands. PETA and Leaping Bunnies have a list of companies that do and don't do tests on animals, you could use it as a shopping guideline to avoid unknowingly purchasing an animal tested product.

Testing on animals is mandatory in some countries. China for one has very strict standards for allowing cosmetics to be sold. All the ingredient and formula has to be tested on animals by one of their authorized institutions before the products is shelfed. Bottom line, if a cosmetic is sold in China, it has been tested on animals. Therefore, at Vegan Bridal, NO products sold in China or even made in China is used so you know that products used on your face are absolutely cruelty free and you are not in any way supporting animal testing.

Another thing worth mentioning is the makeup brushes. Now many of you might think that brushes with natural bristles are better than synthetics. It could be the case 20 years ago. But nowadays with advanced technology and designs especially targeting makeup applications, synthetic brushes are at least as good, if not better, than animal-hair brushes.

But what's wrong with natural bristles? Makeup brushes with natural bristles are commonly made from squirrel, mink, sable, horse or goat hair. Many of them are manufactured in developing countries where there are few or no animal welfare regulations. Every year, millions of animals are trapped, drowned, and beaten to death in the wild and strangled, electrocuted, or beaten and skinned alive on fur farms. Not to mention that poorly made animal-hair brushes most definitely made from contaminated fur which contain bacteria, dead cells and other harmful substances. Are you still willing to use dead animal hair on your skin?

Your satisfaction is our top priority. You can be assured that ONLY animal-free brushes are be used at Vegan Bridal so you can stay guilt-free while looking perfect for your day!

All in the name of 'beauty', millions of animals including rabbits, cats, dogs, and mice still suffer chemical burns to their skin and eyes, and are left to languish for days in pain and ache with loneliness. All they can do is sit and wait in fear of the next terrifying and painful procedure. After enduring lives of pain, loneliness and terror, only death awaits.

These tests are both cruel and unnecessary. There are non animal alternatives such as testing by sophisticated product tests (use of human tissue), using a products that is proven safe, some companies even use human volunteers.
